MLB reportedly drops Chase Utley suspension over controversial playoff slide

Major League Baseball dropped Los Angeles Dodger Chase Utley's suspension over his controversial playoff slide in the National League Division Series, a source told the Los Angeles Times on Sunday.
The league had suspended Utley for two games after the game-changing play, which resulted in a fractured fibula for New York Mets shortstop Rubén Tejada. Utley appealed the suspension.
In February, MLB officials announced a new rule that would more clearly govern slides in potential double plays. Utley declined to comment on the status of his suspension to the Times on Sunday.
