Ben Carson will reportedly endorse Donald Trump
Ben Carson will endorse Donald Trump on Friday, making the announcement at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, sources close to the former Republican presidential candidate say.
The sources, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Washington Post that the endorsement was finalized during a meeting Thursday morning between Trump and Carson at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. Sources close to the retired neurosurgeon told the Post that although Trump did call into question stories from Carson's past, he still views the Republican frontrunner as the GOP's best chance of winning a general election and luring previously apathetic voters to the polls.
On Thursday, Carson didn't mention the endorsement, but told Fox News Radio there are two different Trumps. "There's the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there's the Donald Trump behind the scenes," he said. "They're not the same person. One's very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual."
