Nix the VP rumors: Kasich says he will not team up with Trump

Ohio Gov. John Kasich has been proposed as Donald Trump's running mate for months, as the two have rarely tangled and the combo would be "a marriage between a brazen outsider and a member of the GOP establishment."
But Kasich himself is totally uninterested in the plan. "There's no way I would team up with Donald Trump," he said in an interview with Fox and Friends on Tuesday. "No way. Forget it." His comments recall previous remarks in which Kasich rejected the veep slot altogether.
Though he has yet to win any contests in the GOP primary process, Kasich struck a hopeful tone heading in to Tuesday's primaries, insisting he will win his home state. "I'm going to be the nominee, because we're going to win Ohio," he said.
