raiders of the lost franchise
Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will re-team for another Indiana Jones movie
Just when it seemed like 73-year-old Harrison Ford might have hung up the whip and fedora for good, Disney has announced that the actor will return to star in another installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. Steven Spielberg, who helmed all four previous Indiana Jones movies, will return as director.
The as-yet untitled new Indiana Jones movie will hit theaters more than a decade after the last installment, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which grossed nearly $800 million worldwide but polarized critics and fans alike. The announcement comes just months after Harrison Ford was widely praised for reprising his other iconic cinematic role, Han Solo, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Previous rumors had indicated that Disney might be exploring a reboot of the Indiana Jones franchise, with actors like Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt tipped to take over the title role.
The fifth Indiana Jones movie will hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
