Bill Clinton just called the Obama years 'awful'
Speaking in Washington State on Monday while campaigning for his wife, Bill Clinton seemed to slam President Obama's entire time in office.
"If you believe we've finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the seven years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her," Clinton said, "because she's the only person who basically had good ideas [and] will tell you how she's going to pay for them."
The Clinton campaign insists the former president was only referring to Republican obstructionism in Congress, not the Obama administration itself. However, Democrats controlled the Senate for the first six years of Obama's two terms, and held the House for the first two years.
