John Kasich has picked up an endorsement in New York, from the state's former governor — and one-time Republican presidential candidate — George Pataki.
Giving Kasich his first endorsement from a former rival, Pataki said the Ohio governor is the "only" candidate on the Republican side who can "trounce" Hillary Clinton. Kasich wasn't Pataki's first choice — after dropping out of the race in December, he endorsed Marco Rubio, who ended his campaign in March. The New York GOP primary will be held on Tuesday.
