Fox News slams decision to put Harriet Tubman on $20, says it's 'dividing the country'

Fox News joined in on the Harriet Tubman backlash on Wednesday evening, with host Greta Van Susteren slamming the decision to put the abolitionist on the $20 as being yet another example of the Obama administration "dividing the country."

Replacing President Andrew Jackson, Van Susteren argued, is simply stirring up a "100 percent completely unnecessary fight."

"You all know I'm a feminist, love to see women acknowledged for the great things they do to contribute to our nation, and Harriet Tubman did. But what I don't get is this: Rather than dividing the country between those who happen to like the tradition of our currency and want President Andrew Jackson to stay put and those who want to put a woman on a bill... It's so easy to make everyone happy," Van Susteren said.

Following that logic, if we really wanted to preserve the history and tradition of the $20 bill, it should be redesigned with a portrait of Lady Liberty — or any of the other numerous figures to have been featured on its front in the past, such as Pocahontas, Alexander Hamilton, and George Washington. But Van Susteren suggests a different proposal altogether: Give Tubman her own bill — a $25 note. Watch below. Jeva Lange
