The Eiffel Tower will don the colors of the LGBT rainbow flag Monday night to remember the victims of the Orlando shooting, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo announced early Monday:
Hidalgo has expressed "compassion, solidarity, and affection" for the American people following the shooting at the Orlando nightclub Pulse, which occurred Sunday morning and left 49 dead and 53 injured. The city council held a moment of silence mourning the tragedy Monday morning, and Hidalgo has also announced that Paris' city hall will fly the U.S. flag, as well as the rainbow flag.
The Orlando attack comes just months after the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris that left 130 dead.
