Nine people in the Tibetan village of Dungru were killed Sunday in an avalanche, authorities say.
The avalanche also buried 110 yaks and more than 350 sheep, China's official Xinhua News Agency reports. In glaciers around the area, fissures have been seen, Xinhua says, and locals are worried that more avalanches will take place. The rural area is home to farms and pastures, and is 620 miles away from the regional capital of Lhasa.
