GOP senator chastises Republicans for threatening Hillary Clinton with prison
Republican Sen. Jeff Flake (Ariz.) is certain the Republican Party can come up with a better way to take down Hillary Clinton than its current calls to "lock her up." After a night of delegates on the floor cheering for prison time for Clinton at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, the Arizona senator and outspoken critic of Donald Trump tweeted that the party is "jumping the shark" with that line of attack:
So far at the convention, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and retired Lt. General Mike Flynn have called for Clinton to be held accountable for her myriad allegedly sinister actions by serving time. Donald Trump, who officially became the GOP's presidential nominee Tuesday night, has also called for Clinton to be imprisoned over her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.
