The 2016 Summer Olympics kicked off in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, and for the first time, NBC will allow people in the U.S. to stream every contest live plus all 2,000 hours of commentary by Bob Costas and his colleagues. In the video below, Wall Street Journal personal tech columnist Geoffrey A. Fowler walks you through the steps — mostly, you download the NBC Sports app on your phone or tablet — and the big catch: "You need some sort of cable TV subscription, even if you're only borrowing it."
