Donald Trump will endorse Paul Ryan tonight
After pointedly refusing to do so earlier this week, Donald Trump will in fact endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan in Ryan's Wisconsin GOP primary race. CNN has confirmed Trump plans to back his party's top-ranking politician Friday night at an 8 p.m. rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, after Ryan's primary challenger Paul Nehlen has been using Trump's hesitation in his campaign against the incumbent. The primary is next week.
While Trump's running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, broke with the candidate and strongly endorsed Ryan on Wednesday, Ryan himself has seemed unfazed by the issue, telling a Wisconsin radio host Friday morning that the only endorsements he was concerned with were those from "the people here in Wisconsin."
