Sunday in Rio, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt became the first person to win three consecutive Olympic 100-meter titles, earning the gold medal with a time of 9.81 seconds. The win gave Bolt his seventh overall Olympic gold.
Justin Gatlin of the United States came in second, 0.08 seconds behind Bolt, and Canada's Andre de Grasse won the bronze. Bolt's favorite race is the men's 200 meter, and qualifying begins Tuesday. In late June, he pulled out of the Jamaican national championship because of issues with his left hamstring, and had to go through rehabilitation.
