3 dead in plane crash at Reno-Tahoe airport

3 people are dead after Reno airport crash

A three-seat Piper Cherokee single-engine airplane crashed into the parking lot of Nevada's Reno-Tahoe International Airport on Sunday evening, right after takeoff, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says. All three people on the plane are dead, but nobody else was injured and the airport remained open and operational, airport spokesman Brian Klupin tells CNN. At least 15 cars are damaged. The victims have not been identified and the cause of the crash is unknown; the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. You can watch raw footage of the crash scene below.
