An unlikely pair will hit the campaign trail Saturday, as House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) campaigns alongside Donald Trump for the first time. Ryan is scheduled to appear with his party's presidential nominee in his home state of Wisconsin, at the annual Fall Fest in the southeastern city of Elkhorn, located near Chicago. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) will also attend.
Though Ryan has endorsed Trump in the presidential race, he was initially reluctant to do so and has largely avoided talking about the election. The two men have had several points of disagreement over the course of the campaign, and since his endorsement, Ryan has repeatedly distanced himself from Trump's controversial comments. Last month, Ryan echoed Trump's critics in calling for the Republican nominee to release his tax returns.
