Bioengineer David Hugh has created a desk chair that will "make you never want to get up again," says Andrew Liszewski at Gizmodo. The Elysium ($26,000) is the product of Hugh's decade-long quest for an equation that precisely describes how gravity affects posture and the body. Begin reclining in it, and you'll eventually hit a sweet spot that "feels similar to floating in zero gravity" as all the forces acting on your muscles and joints reach a state of equilibrium. The chair has a carbon-fiber skeleton covered in viscoelastic foam and Scandinavian leather. "You might have to mortgage your house to afford one, but your butt will thank you."
