At a National Press Club event in Washington, D.C., on Monday, Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel admitted that while he thinks Donald Trump's comments about women were "clearly offensive and inappropriate," he's still able to support the Republican candidate because he gets the "big things" right — like trade. "Nobody would suggest that Donald Trump is a humble man," Thiel said. "But the big things he's right about amount to a much-needed dose of humility in our politics."
Open boasting about grabbing women by their genitals aside, Thiel insisted Trump is just about "making America a normal country." "A normal country doesn't have a half-trillion-dollar trade deficit. A normal country doesn't fight five simultaneous undeclared wars. In a normal country, the government actually does its job," Thiel said.
