Pollster Sam Wang of Princeton University was really confident Hillary Clinton would win the election. Like, really confident. So confident, in fact, that in mid-October he tweeted a promise to "eat a bug" if Donald Trump "wins more than 240 electoral votes."
Well, Trump won 290 electoral votes, and CNN's Michael Smerconish decided the bug eating needed to happen. In an interview with Wang Saturday morning, Smerconish brought up the rash wager and cordially invited Wang to consume a honey-coated cricket.
Wang took a moment to argue "the eating bug thing is itself sensationalist, and it keeps us off important policy issues" — which is perfectly true, but one simply does not back out of promised bug consumption. Bad form! Watch the moment below. Bonnie Kristian
