Donald Trump Jr. agreed in June 2016 to take a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer after being told he would receive compromising information about Hillary Clinton, The New York Times reported this weekend, although it's apparently all news to Moscow. The Russian government has denied all allegations of involvement in hacking the election or colluding with the Trump campaign and on Monday the Kremlin claimed it knew nothing about the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, The Associated Press reports.
Veselnitskaya told the Times she "never acted on behalf of the Russian government" and "never discussed any of these matters with any representatives of the Russian government." President Trump was also allegedly unaware of the meeting at the time.
