Two crew members were killed on Wednesday when a Navy fighter jet crashed off the coast of Key West.

The Navy said that the F/A-18 Super Hornet was preparing to land at the naval air station Wednesday afternoon when it crashed into the water. Both the pilot and weapons system officer ejected and were recovered, but later died. The Navy, which is investigating the cause of the crash, has not released the names of the crew members.
