This travel discount suspiciously avoids telling you it's for the Trump hotel spa

The Trump name is starting look more like a liability than a commodity.

First, Ivanka Trump shut down her self-named clothing brand amid falling sales. Now, her recently opened spa in Washington, D.C, is offering a major online coupon that carefully avoids mentioning the name of the hotel it's in, the Washingtonian has pointed out.

The discount website Travelzoo.com listed a steal at "one of D.C.'s newest luxury spas housed in the stunning and historic Old Post Office Building" — which, coincidentally, is where the Trump Hotel is located. Hawk-eyed discount divas will notice that the deal is located at "Spa by Ivanka Trump," and the spa's website is housed at TrumpHotels.com.

But Travelzoo suspiciously avoids the "T" word in its promotion. Take this descriptor: "Forbes Travel Guide calls the spa a 'can't-miss feature of the luxury hotel.'" Comparable Travelzoo ads make sure to tout a big name, like "the Argentta Spa, which debuted in the Watergate Hotel."

The Watergate only offers a 35 percent discount to the 58 percent cut at Ivanka's spot — probably because the Trump name is always associated with the best deals.
