Rep. Ron DeSantis, endorsed by President Trump, won Florida's GOP gubernatorial primary on Tuesday.

DeSantis defeated Adam Putnam, the state's agriculture commissioner, and several other candidates who only received a tiny percentage of the vote. With 84.9 percent of precincts reporting, DeSantis has 56.2 percent of the vote, and Putnam 36.8 percent.

DeSantis became known outside of Florida when his campaign ad went viral last month, showing the Trump fan teaching his kids how to "build the wall" using blocks and reading a story about Trump telling a person "you're fired."
