Illinois' Republican governor just lost to a Democrat

The Illinois governor's seat has flipped blue, with Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner conceding to Democrat J.B. Pritzker, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Pritzker secured 62 percent of the vote to Rauner's 32.7 percent with 30.6 percent of precincts reporting, per Politico. The incumbent conceded in a phone call less than an hour after polls closed, and told his campaign party that "this is a time for us to unite," per the Tribune.
