Democrat Antonio Delgado has unseated Republican incumbent Rep. John Faso in New York's 19th Congressional District, CNN and NBC News project.
Delgado earned 52.4 percent of the vote against Faso's 45.2 percent, with 67 percent of precincts reporting, per The New York Times.
Delgado, a Rhodes scholar and Harvard Law School graduate, was labeled a "big-city rapper" in a GOP ad critics called "racist." The swing district race remained tight in polls right up until the election.
