Now that Democrats have taken control of the House of Representatives, President Trump is actively threatening them on Twitter.
On Wednesday, Trump ominously warned that if House Democrats want to "waste Taxpayer Money investigating us," he'll "be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level." With a House majority, Democrats will have the power to launch key investigations into the president and could subpoena his tax returns. They'll have control of the House Oversight Committee, where they previously put together a list of 64 subpoenas and inquiries, reports ABC News.
Republicans retained control of the Senate, and they're projected to have at least a 51-seat majority. Prior to Trump's tweet, a White House official told The Daily Beast that the administration had been preparing for Democrats to take House control and launch investigations into the president, saying we should "expect witch hunts."
