Saudi Arabia's crown prince is getting very mixed reactions from G-20 attendees

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sure knows how to make an entrance.

Within minutes of arriving at the G-20 world summit, bin Salman had already made it very obvious which world leaders he was very friendly with — and which he wasn't. For example, take the crown prince's hand-slapping, all-smiles greeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Meanwhile, things looked a little less cheery when bin Salman met with French President Emmanuel Macron. Shying away from the aggressive arm-wrestling handshake he once shared with President Trump, Macron opted to whisper a cryptic message to the crown prince instead.

The tense mood surrounding bin Salman's appearance likely partly stemmed from the recent murder of U.S.-based Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May promised to bring up the murder, as well as Saudi Arabia's ongoing involvement in Yemen, in a private meeting with the crown prince, Al Jazeera reports. May said she'll ask for an investigation into Khashoggi's death; the American investigation reportedly already concluded that bin Salman was responsible.
