Joe Biden launches a Snapchat, immediately hands it over to his granddaughter

Hello, fellow teens!

Former Vice President Joe Biden has joined Snapchat ahead of Wednesday's Democratic primary debates. Or, to put it another way, someone on Biden's campaign thought it was a good idea for him to get on the hallmark social media platform of Generation Z, and a bunch of other Biden adjacents are actually running it.

Biden announced his Snapchat debut Wednesday afternoon with TikTok-length video, revealing that his account will capitalize on his penchant for aviator shades and promising a behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for that night's debates.

After the official launch, Biden took a bit of time to actually appear on the account. His senior adviser Symone Sanders first took viewers through an MSNBC interview and a coffee break, and then handed the Snap to Biden's granddaughter Finnegan. She took viewers on a road trip with the Biden family to Detroit and then, eventually, introduced her "pop" with a backstage view of his debate prep.
