House Democrats demand Ukraine documents from Mike Pence
Vice President Mike Pence is getting dragged into the impeachment inquiry.
In a Friday letter, three House committee chairs requested Pence provide documents related to President Trump's dealings with Ukraine. That includes documents on Trump's phone calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, any government communication about the conversations, and information on plans for providing foreign aid based on political meddling, per the letter.
The long list of documents ties to how in a July phone call, Trump asked Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden for political purposes and implied that he'd potentially withhold aid to push Ukraine into compliance. Pence met with Zelensky last month, further tying him into the probe. The letter also warned that failure to comply with the request for documents by Oct. 15 would be considered evidence of obstruction of the impeachment inquiry.

Meanwhile, a handful of Republicans continued to speak out against the impeachment inquiry into Trump, albeit weakly. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who usually isn't afraid to criticize Trump, brushed off Trump's public request for China to investigate the Bidens as "not a real request" on Friday. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) meanwhile responded to an angry constituent asking her to speak out against Trump by saying "I can't speak for him."
