A Downton Abbey movie sequel might be on the way
One of the few bright spots at the 2019 box office that wasn't a superhero or Disney remaking its own movies was Downton Abbey, the big-screen sequel to the extremely British TV show of the same name.
And if you still, somehow, didn't get your fill of withering Maggie Smith putdowns or sweeping camera shots of a big old house, you're in luck: Based on the success of the movie, it sounds like a sequel is probably on the horizon, per The Hollywood Reporter.
"We're having those conversations. We're working on what the story is," says Carnival Films chairman Gareth Neame — because come on, they've got to be running out of Upstairs Downstairs storylines to crib from, right? Read more at The Hollywood Reporter.
