British Prime Minister Boris Johnson ended up having a one-on-one meeting with President Trump after all.

As Trump headed to London this week for the NATO summit, no meeting with Johnson had been announced, with The New York Times quoting an official as saying this is because Trump is "very conscious of the fact that we do not interfere" in other country's elections, while Axios White House editor Margaret Talev reported Johnson "sent very clear 'stay away' instructions, and that's because in about 10 days there are really important elections in Britain," although one official told NBC News a casual meeting was possible.

Politico reports Trump and Johnson did end up having a casual, private meeting on Wednesday, with the White House saying the two affirmed the two countries' "special relationship" and Trump tweeting they "talked about numerous subjects including @NATO and Trade."
