Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has decisively won Nevada's Democratic caucuses, NBC News and ABC News project.

The projections came via the networks' analyses of votes, as only four percent of precincts had reported when NBC News and ABC News made their calls. Sanders had more than twice the votes of nearest competitor former Vice President Joe Biden at the time of the call, and exit polls taken throughout the day indicated Sanders had a decisive lead.

Sanders more narrowly won the caucus and primary contests in Iowa and New Hampshire earlier this month, but Nevada provided a far more diverse testing ground than those heavily white states. Former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in a distant third in early caucus results.
