Democrats will win enough seats to hold the House, Fox News and NBC News project.
Democrats gained 41 seats in 2018 to flip the House, and pre-election estimates suggested they'd expand that majority even more in 2020. Early results on Tuesday are unclear if they'll make that gain, but wins across the U.S. do suggest Democrats will at least retain the House.
As of Tuesday night, Democratic Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell of Florida was projected to lose the seat she flipped in 2018. Democratic Reps. Max Rose of Staten Island and Donna Shalala of south Florida were also trailing their Republican opponent as the night rolled on.
