A new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday revealed that half of Americans believe Hillary Clinton represents the future more than any other potential 2016 presidential candidate. But that number isn't the whole story: While 50 percent of respondents said Clinton "represents the future," 48 percent of respondents said she "represents the past."

The survey polled 1,027 adults from Feb. 12-15 and asked respondents whether seven potential 2016 presidential candidates represent the future or the past. Sixty-four percent of respondents said that Vice President Joe Biden (D) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) represent the past.
