Walmart revealed Thursday that it will within a year raise the pay for its full- and part-time employees to $10 per hour.

Announced in conjunction with the release of the company's latest earnings report, the change will impact around 500,000 employees. The plan calls for raising the wage for current and future associates to $9 per hour in April, followed by an increase to $10 per hour next February.
