Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Sunday said he would delay a confirmation vote for attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch until the Senate finishes work on a human trafficking bill.

"I had hoped to turn to her next week, but if we can't finish the trafficking bill, she will be put off again," McConnell said in an interview with CNN.

The human trafficking bill easily cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee but has since been hamstrung by Democrats who flagged an extraneous provision targeting abortion funding.
