Trump demands an apology from Clinton over ISIS remark
Donald Trump said Monday that Hillary Clinton owes him an apology for suggesting at the Democratic presidential debate Saturday that "he's becoming ISIS's best recruiter." "They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists," she said.
"I will demand an apology from Hillary. She should apologize," Trump replied during an appearance on NBC's Today Monday. "She lies about emails, she lies about Whitewater, she lies about everything. She will be a disaster about everything as president of the United States."
The Washington Post fact-checked Clinton's statement and found that she was only technically wrong. "ISIS didn't feature Trump in a video, but ISIS supporters and recruiters have used Trump's rhetoric to promote ISIS' ideas and agenda," Rita Katz, executive director of the terrorist monitoring service SITE Intelligence Group, told The Post.
