Republicans meet tonight in their first debate since Super Tuesday
Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich are set to meet in Detroit for their first debate since Super Tuesday, and their 11th of the election season. The Fox News event will also mark the first time Trump and moderator Megyn Kelly have shared a stage together since Trump took issue with Kelly suggesting that he was sexist at a debate last summer.
Ben Carson, who is still technically in the race, has bowed out of the evening's debate, citing no "political path forward" in light of his poor showing on Super Tuesday.
With tensions and tempers high during last week's debate in Houston, The New York Times predicts that this evening's event "could prove to be the most consequential of the 2016 race." Detroit is a fitting stage, as the candidates will be taking up a conversation on the economy. Michigan's own primary comes next week, on March 8, with 59 delegates up for the Republicans to grab.
