Trump trails Clinton by just 3 points in new national poll

Donald Trump is hot on Hillary Clinton's heels, narrowing the gap behind her to a mere three percentage points, according to a new national poll by NBC News/SurveyMonkey. Just last week, Trump trailed by five points but now Clinton leads by only 48 percent to his 45 percent.
Still, Clinton has an edge with minority voters, dominating Trump with a 75-point margin among black voters and a 37-point margin among Hispanics. Despite Trump's boasts that he'd be "really good for women," they also tend to favor Clinton while white and male voters generally prefer Trump.
While Clinton leads Sanders nationally by 14 points, Sanders beats Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head by a stronger advantage than her: Sanders holds a 12-point edge over Trump, versus Clinton's three-point lead.
