Just a day after GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said he wasn't ready to give House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) his stamp of approval, Trump's running mate Mike Pence went ahead and endorsed him anyway. "I strongly support Paul Ryan, strongly endorse his re-election," the Indiana governor told Fox News on Wednesday. Pence said Trump had actually encouraged his "support for Paul Ryan and our longtime friendship" in a conversation Wednesday morning ahead of Pence's endorsement, The Associated Press reported.

Trump, meanwhile, said Tuesday that he's "not quite there yet" when it comes to endorsing Ryan in his primary fight next week, mimicking Ryan's initial hesitancy to endorse Trump in the presidential race. Trump's remarks have infuriated Republicans.
