Joe Scarborough told co-host Mika Brzezinski her opinion means 'nothing' because she's a Democrat
Tempers flared on Wednesday's episode of Morning Joe after co-host Joe Scarborough seemingly discounted co-host Mika Brzezinski's opinion because of her party affiliation. Midway through Brzezinski's monologue about why House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) needs to denounce Donald Trump already, Scarborough, a Republican, interrupted to offer an opinion of his own. "You're a Democrat, Mika. You're a Democrat," Scarborough told Brzezinski. "Let me say this. Let me say this, okay? Because it means nothing coming from you, okay? You're a Democrat."
"Excuse me?" Brzezinski said. Scarborough didn't back down. "It means nothing coming from a Democrat to these Republicans," he said. "Let me say this to my Republican Party," he added. "You are letting Donald Trump destroy the party. And you've done it from the beginning."
The two quickly reconciled once Scarborough clarified that he completely agreed with Brzezinski's point and just wanted to say it himself, so Republicans didn't have the out of just dismissing a Democrat's opinion. "I agree with you," Scarborough told Brzezinski. "I mean, let's unite and not divide."
