Melania and Barron Trump aren't moving to the White House for months
When President-elect Donald Trump moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Jan. 20, 2017, his third wife and fifth child will not be joining him, at least not right away. At his Bedminster Golf Club on Sunday, Trump said that he planned to live at the White House after being sworn in, but that wife Melania and 10-year-old son Barron won't move in with him until after Barron finishes the school year. Barron attends a prep school on the Upper West Side, and Trump spokesman Jason Miller said that no date for the family move has been released, "but like any parents they are concerned about pulling their 10-year-old son out of school in the middle of the year."
"We would also appreciate the same privacy and security considerations given to previous first families with regard to minor children be extended to the Trumps as well," Miller added. The last first family with minor children was the Obamas; Sasha and Malia Obama moved to Washington, D.C., with their parents and started school there in early January 2009, before President Obama was inaugurated.
