Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) have officially been elected to become the Senate's majority and minority leaders, respectively.
The wins were expected, as neither senator faced any challengers — though Reid did face dissent from Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who said that though her effort might be futile, she would not vote for him.
