Today’s front pages: Williamson sacking and Labour Day protests
A round-up of the newspaper headlines on 2 May

The surprise sacking of defence secretary Gavin Williamson over the so-called Huawei leak dominates this morning’s front pages, although most found room for a photo of Princess Charlotte, who turns four today.
The Daily Mail leads with a head-to-head composite between the prime minister - declaring “You’re fired!” - and her ousted minister, who reportedly swore his innocence on his children’s lives, pleading: “I didn’t do it!”
The Independent takes a subtler approach to the continuing mystery over Williamson’s guilt, with its headline “Case closed?”
