Today marks 25 years since the death of renowned Queen frontman and lyricist Freddie Mercury.
Born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar in 1946, Mercury moved to the UK at the age of 17 and began singing in numerous bands across the country before meeting drummer Roger Taylor and forming Queen.
The famously flamboyant singer, known for his theatrical stage performances and enormous vocal range, was only 45 when his life was cut short by Aids.
