Best of breaks: The British Airways luxury sale edit
From Basque food in Bilbao to swimming with turtles in the Caribbean, there's a trip to suit all tastes
Thinking of booking your next break? With BA's luxury sale, running until 21 March, you can get the best bang for your buck while resting in the knowledge that your holiday is in safe hands. Here we take a look at some of the most tempting destinations, with each package including return business flights from the UK and a stay in a four- or five-star hotel.
Short breaks
Take a whistle-stop tour of the best of Basque culture and cuisine in Bilbao, with a three-night stay starting from £233. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the city's spectacular Guggenheim museum, and while you're there try out the highly recommended cuisine at the museum's newly opened cutting-edge restaurant Nerua.

For a romance-filled weekend, there are few better places than the old-world charm of Verona, the backdrop to many of Shakespeare's plays including Romeo and Juliet. A three-night stay, from £244, will provide plenty of time to explore the picturesque streets of the Unesco World Heritage Site.
Meanwhile, for a touch of modern glamour, from £306 you can stay at the Hotel Colette in Cannes, just a stone's throw away from the chic boutiques of the Rue d'Antibes.
Beach holidays
Imagine golden sands and crystal-clear waters and one of the first destinations that springs to mind is the Caribbean – and for good reason. A seven-night stay (from £1,899) at the award-winning Sugar Cane Club Hotel & Spa on the northwest coast of Barbados gives you access to its half-mile beach and tranquil spa services, and on Fridays the hotel even offers a complimentary trip on its powerboat to swim with turtles.
For similarly balmy climes, head to Mauritius, where a seven-night stay at the Preskil Beach Resort, situated on a private peninsula at the island's southeast coast, starts from £2,346. It provides the perfect vantage point from which to partake in the varied water sports on offer, from water skiing, windsurfing or snorkelling to the more leisurely sailboat cruises.
Long-haul
If you've got your eye on a trip to the US, there's plenty of packages on offer – three-night trips to Washington, Boston or Chicago start from a little over £1,500, or opt for New York from £1,641.
Heading further afield, those booking for a trip towards the end of the year can take advantage of BA's direct flights from London Gatwick to Cape Town, launching 24 November, with a five-night excursion starting from £3,059.
