Obamacare deadline delayed
The White House announced a special extension of the March 31 deadline to enroll in Obamacare.
Despite repeatedly stating that this year’s March 31 deadline to enroll in Obamacare was “firm,” the White House this week announced a special extension for virtually anyone who requests one. Under the new rules, people can qualify for an extension by ticking a box on the HealthCare.gov website to indicate that they tried and failed to enroll by March 31; they will then have until mid-April to file an application. Administration officials said the delay was designed to accommodate a possible surge of sign-ups in the final weeks of enrollment, but Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called it another unilateral delay for a “failed health-care law.”
