A Georgia high school student was suspended and stripped of his athletic scholarship for hugging a female teacher. School officials say Sam McNair’s hug violated the sexual harassment code. McNair, whose mom says the whole family are “huggers,” says he can’t believe that “something so innocent can be perceived as something totally opposite.”
For the second straight year, a vengeful Louisiana woman adorned her house’s roof with Christmas lights in the shape of a middle finger as a holiday message to a feuding neighbor. Sarah Childs won a court case for the right to display the finger, and says flipping the bird is a relatively mild way to express her anger. “You know, lots of people just resort to violence,” she said.
