2. Willem Dafoe thought the Spider-Man reboot was "cynical"
Willem Dafoe starred as Spider-Man's nemesis The Green Goblin in the original Spider-Man movie, but in a recent interview with Total Film, the actor revealed that he has no plans to check out his competition in the rebooted series, The Amazing Spider-Man. "I saw a trailer for the first Spider-Man reboot and I thought, 'This is crazy!' It's not shot-for-shot, but it's the same story," said Dafoe, who's apparently unaware that he just described 80 percent of contemporary Hollywood blockbusters. "I thought, 'This is sort of a cynical approach to making money!'" — as opposed to the pure, artistic motivation that drove the last Spider-Man series. [Total Film]

3. ABC has canceled Lucky Seven
In news that makes it all but impossible not to make a pun, ABC has announced that freshman series Lucky 7 has been canceled after two paltry episodes. TV Line reports that after weak ratings for its premiere, the show lost half of its viewership in week two, prompting ABC to immediately pull the show and replace it with reruns of Scandal. Lucky 7 now joins HBO's Luck in the pantheon of ironically unlucky TV shows, so maybe you should think twice before tempting fate next time, guys. [TV Line]

4. Daniel Radcliffe preferred magic school to regular school
The Harry Potter franchise brought star Daniel Radcliffe international fame and untold millions — but in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor confessed that wasn't his main motivation for accepting the role. "I really wanted to not be in school," said Radcliffe. "That was a huge part of it. I really disliked school and I really loved being on set." 5. Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus are feuding, or whatever
This week's lame, tragically inescapable celebrity feud: The ongoing war of words between currently controversial singer Miley Cyrus and formerly controversial singer Sinead O'Connor. It started on Thursday, when O'Connor wrote an open letter to Cyrus giving her unsolicited advice and warning her against being "prostituted" by the music industry. Cyrus responded by openly mocking O'Connor's history of mental illness, and O'Connor responded to that by threatening a lawsuit on grounds that remain unclear.
