1. Fergie and Josh Duhamel named their son Axl Jack

Just when we were all getting used to saying "North West" without thinking about compasses or airlines, Fergie and Josh Duhamel have given their newborn son a moniker tailor-made to remind us that celebrities love weird baby names. On Thursday, Fergie gave birth to a boy who the couple promptly named Axl Jack. "Some people may not like it, some people may think it's really cool, but we don't really care," said Fergie, whose personal definition of "really cool" apparently includes Guns & Roses and Tennessee whiskey. The sequel to last summer's superhero blockbuster The Avengers is still two years from hitting theaters, but director Joss Whedon has already found the perfect actor to play Ultron, the ultra-fast, ultra-strong robot that will serve as the film's primary villain: James Spader. With Spader acting opposite Robert Downey Jr. again, The Avengers: Age of Ultron will double as an unlikely Less Than Zero reunion — though presumably with less prostitution and drug abuse. In news that will disappoint far, far fewer of you than it will amuse, Radar Online reports that Kris Jenner's eponymous talk show has officially been canceled, because no one needs to spend that much time keeping up with the Kardashians. The report adds that Jenner's ratings did go up when she debuted the first picture of granddaughter North West, but that Fox viewed it as a one-time bump and not a sign of audience growth, possibly because "Kim Kardashian having more babies" isn't really a viable business model. In general, Hollywood works like any other industry: A person offers a service, and is compensated with money. But when it comes to starring in James Franco's upcoming adaptation of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, Franco has a different kind of compensation in mind: The opportunity to work with James Franco. "For those wanting to work with James, that in itself can be considered great currency," said a casting call obtained by Radar Online. "He is a fantastic director and quite loyal to his actors!!" As opposed to, say, his Oscar co-hosts. [Radar Online]

Last week's episode of Breaking Bad featured a tense standoff in a Mexican restaurant between the Whites and the Schraders — a scene punctuated by an irritatingly perky waiter extolling the virtues of the restaurant's guacamole. But according to The Wrap, the waiter's persistence paid off; since the episode aired, the restaurant's guacamole sales have grown to 35 percent of all customers. "We've had a lot of people coming in to take pictures and wanting to sit at the table where the characters sat," said general manager Warren Gaustad. Maybe Walter White should have been in the avocado business all along. [The Wrap]
