1. You can finally gaze upon North West

On Friday morning, while everyone was busy complaining about Ben Affleck being cast as Batman, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West debuted the first picture of their daughter North West on Kris Jenner's talk show Kris. And wouldn't you know it, she looks like a baby. During the big reveal, West insisted that he had "not attempted to get paid" for the picture, presumably because a shameless cash grab lacks the purity of a shameless ratings grab. [USA Today]

2. Robert Pattinson slams Twilight fans

Talk about biting the necks that feed you. In a recent interview with the German edition of Interview magazine, Twilight star Robert Pattinson revealed that he's not too fond of the fans that catapulted him to fame. "Sometimes I ask myself what these masses of people do the whole day," said Pattinson. "They sit in front of their computers and comment on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight," he added, thereby giving those masses of people an entirely new thing to sit in front of their computers and comment on. 3. There's a Reality Bites sitcom on the way

Good news, Gen-Xers: Ben Stiller and Helen Childress have teamed up to write a TV pilot based on their 1994 dramedy Reality Bites, because TV just doesn't have enough self-absorbed twenty-somethings sitting around and complaining about their lives. Deadline reports that the series will be set in the "recession-plagued, pre-Internet early 1990s." As opposed to the recession-plagued, post-Internet early 2010s. [Deadline]

4. The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie finally has a title

In the wake of The Lone Ranger's dismal failure this summer — which can be blamed entirely on a secret cabal of biased critics, and not on the fact that it isn't a very good movie — Johnny Depp and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have retreated to the safety of the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise. In keeping with the series' tradition of needlessly long titles, the fifth installment will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales — because Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Rapidly Declining Franchise was too much of a giveaway. 5. Francis Ford Coppola thinks R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" is "incredible"

They say it takes genius to recognize genius, and if that's true, R. Kelly just got a major endorsement in the form of The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola. In an interview with Pitchfork, Coppola's son-in-law Thomas Mars said that he screened "Trapped in the Closet," Kelly's 33-part "hip-hopera," for the famed director, and that Coppola subsequently declared the video "incredible." "I remember him sitting there in silence for about 10 minutes," added Mars, which, if our reaction to The Godfather Part III is any indication, isn't necessarily a good thing. [New York Post]
